CloudReaders for iPad

I recently came across CloudReaders - a pdf viewer for the iPad. I haven't surveyed many of the eBook readers available for the iPad, however I am impressed by its features and simplicity. Uploading of documents can be achieved using either using the USB cable or (if connected to a Wi-Fi network) via a simple post webpage. This feature is quite useful if you don't happen to have the USB cable with you when you come across a good article you want to read while traveling. For all of its features and simplicity, there are only two problems I've encountered:
  • Sometimes, pdfs which I can open without any problems using Preview on my mac, CloudReaders fails to open. Any attempt to open them crashes the app. I'm not sure what the cause of this problem is, but I suspect it has something to do with the pdf format. A workaround is simply to open the pdf on my mac using Preview and use File > Save As... to save a new copy of the pdf. CloudReaders is then able to open the pdf without any problems
  • CloudReaders currently does not support folders to aid in the organisation of pdfs. This is a known limitation and the developer intends to include this functionality in a future release. However, it does support tagging of pdfs which can be used to filter the listed pdfs within your pdf collection
